LOU ROS
Lou Ros (b.1984) is a visual artist whose work explores the human condition and contemporary landscape through the lens of hybrid painting. Working at the intersection of observation and material reality; combining acrylic, spray paint, and pastel, his practice reflects on the fragmentation of our present moment within a world saturated by fleeting impressions and ephemeral contours. Through evocative landscapes and focused subjects nuanced with contemplative undertones, Ros seeks to capture a singular relationship to space and time, materialized without direct human figures yet rich with memorial purpose.
Drawing from the physical world, such as expansive vistas or narrow views of nature, his practice engages both sensory and critical dimensions. By placing these ordinary or natural moments in dialogue with a personal vision, he constructs imagery where the visible and invisible overlap, allowing a sense of deep contemplation to surface within the familiar. His process brings forth what is not immediately apparent, freezing sensation and emotion into a unified, physical surface.
The artist lives and works in Paris, France. Ros has exhibited internationally, with notable shows in Paris, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Munich, and Cape Town.
