Claudia Di Francesco (b. 1992, Rome) is an Italian artist currently based in Florence, whose practice unfolds through painting as a space of psychological, symbolic, and emotional inquiry. Rooted in personal and collective memory, her work evokes intimate inner landscapes inhabited by archetypal figures, translucent bodies, unusual animals, and silent presences suspended between reality, myth, and dream. Across her compositions, time appears unstable and cyclical: past and present collapse into one another, while forms remain in a continual state of transformation and becoming.

Nature and the body are deeply intertwined within her practice, bound in an almost ritual relationship. Her figures, whether imagined or remembered, reflect recurring cycles of birth, decay, regeneration, and emotional inheritance. This sense of continual transformation extends into her material process. Through layered applications of oil and pencil, Di Francesco builds images through accumulation, erasure, and reappearance, allowing traces of gesture and time to remain visible on the surface. Her works never appear fully resolved; instead, they hover in a fragile equilibrium between emergence and disappearance.

Di Francesco graduated from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in 2018 and currently lectures at FIDI – Florence Institute of Design International. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including with Richard Saltoun Gallery and Alma Pearl Gallery, with recent exhibitions in Italy, China, and Bulgaria.
