Charlie Henzi (b. 2001, Seattle) is a London-based artist whose practice explores the construction of femininity through the lens of popular culture, the gaze, and consumerism. Drawing from an ongoing engagement with visual codes and cultural imagery, her work reflects on the performed female and the ways identity is shaped within a media-saturated environment. Rooted in both research and personal experience, Henzi’s work engages with the visual language of contemporary culture, reworking familiar motifs to comment on the current zeitgeist. Her practice examines how images of women are produced, circulated, and consumed, revealing the tensions between agency, representation, and commodification.
She completed her BA in Fine Art at Central Saint Martins and her MA in Contemporary Art Practice at the Royal College of Art. Henzi has participated in a number of recent group exhibitions in London, including presentations at Safehouse 1 Peckham, Bow Arts Camden, Shipton Gallery, D Contemporary Gallery, and Take Courage Gallery.
